About Us

Kaivinai (Tamil for "handicraft") started as a way to bring genuine Indian craft into everyday life. My parents handle sourcing on the ground in India, maintaining relationships with artisans and their networks while I run the business and sell here in the UK.

It's an informal, relationship-led way of sourcing today and one we're proud of. As we grow, we hope to move toward more formal certification of our artisan partnerships, so every piece comes with even clearer proof of where it's from and who made it.

For now, that trust is built the old-fashioned way: through people we know, doing work we believe in.
